Yearly festival returns to entertain Red Deer’s children

The 12th annual Central Alberta Children’s Festival is taking place over two days next month in Red Deer.

While it is a children’s festival, there will still be plenty to interest the adults, with two stages set up for entertainment. Some of those set to perform this year are the Red Deer Royals, The Purple Pirate and singer/songwriters Peter Puffin. In addition, street performers will be strolling the grounds.

Prior to the festival, three face painting workshops will be held this month at Kinsman Family Place. They will be led by Main Artery Designs.

There will be a barbecue and family dance, snack stops and several activity tents. Bling Fling will give kids the chance to make and take a bracelet, and Box City will allow them to open up their imagination by creating items with a cardboard box. There will also be Carnival Corner, the Funhaus Zone and an Imagination Station.

In order to advertise events like this, organizers sometimes invest in flyer printing services. The finished product can then easily be distributed in the community either by hand or as newspaper inserts.

The Central Alberta Children’s Festival will be held at Rotary Recreation Park from June 1 to 2. Admission is $6 per person. For the most current information about the festival, call 403-309-5825.
