Woodstock celebrates Victoria Day with weekend of fun

April 16, 2018 by

The city of Woodstock will be celebrating Victoria Weekend with several events aimed at people of all ages. The events are planned by the Woodstock Communications and Special Events Office.

The main event is usually the parade which will be held on Victoria Day itself (May 21); this is the 71st year the parade has taken place. It will travel from Dundas St. to Southside Park. The grand marshals as always will be the Lions Club of Woodstock. The parade will feature floats, marching bands, vintage cars, Shriners, and local groups such as the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides. Residents, community groups and local businesses can still sign up to take part in the parade until April 20; there is no entry fee.

Another event will be the Woodstock Minor Ball tournament at Southside Park. It is set to feature 10 teams. There will also be a fundraising barbecue.

Other activities will include a midway with rides, games, and foods. More events will be announced closer to the date. Organizers may contact a Woodstock poster printing to help them to spread word of the various events in the community.

Victoria Day Weekend activities will be held at various Woodstock venues from May 17 to 21. To learn more about planned events, contact Brad Janssen at 519-539-2382 x4102.
