Whitby to welcome Santa in high style

October 11, 2017 by

Residents of Whitby may wish to save the date for an upcoming event that will bring people from all across the community together in a spirit of festive celebration.

The town’s Celebration Square will be the location for an evening of festivities that will light up the twilight sky. Caroling and other seasonally themed entertainment will be on the agenda, and there will also be a number of different not-for-profit and charitable groups on hand with activities, such as crafts and games for the kids. The Press Café will be supplying cookies and hot chocolate, and there will be plenty more going on as well.

Santa, who will be the man of the hour, is set to arrive at around 6:30 pm, and kids and adults alike can have their photos take with him. Those who come out are reminded to bring along an unwrapped toy to donate to the OWASACO Stuff-A-Bug toy drive, which will see a Volkswagen Beetle filled with toys for local kids in need.

Everyone is invited to enjoy this celebration of community spirit. Pop-up banners and other reusable decorations can be prepared for an occasion like this by an area print company.

This festive event will be held on December 1, starting at 6;00 pm. More details are available on the town’s website.
