Vaughan residents who would like to play an active role in the environmental stewardship of their community will soon be able to do so as part of a an event dedicated to helping make the city a little bit more “green”.

A variety of earth-friendly activities and initiatives will be included in the schedule for Vaughan Environmental Days. Many of these will also help local not-for-profit groups, and have been chosen because they are both educational and fun.

A mulch giveaway will be on offer, and there will also be a clothes drive, electronic recycling, information about electric vehicles, a portable water trailer , a bike repair shop and many other stations set up. Green Direction Vaughan will be on site with information for the public about the city’s environmental initiatives and how residents can get involved and aid the community in becoming a more sustainable place to live, work and do business.

This event will run for approximately four hours, and will be hosted by the Al Palladini Community Centre located at 9201 Islington Avenue. Local print shops can provide informational brochures and other materials to distribute during this type of event.

June 2 has been chosen as the date for this community activity, and it is scheduled to begin at 10:00 am. More details can be found on the City of Vaughan’s website.
