Vancouver to celebrate Bike to Work Week

In the city of Vancouver, thousands are expected to take to their bikes and cycle to work as part of the community’s Bike to Work Week at the end of the month.

The event, which promotes exercise, fresh air and doing a good turn for the environment, gives people an opportunity to register and then submit their bike trips through the online system. Each time a person does, they will have a chance to have their name entered to win one of the prizes that will be given away.

To help encourage as many people as possible to participate, celebration stations will be set up where cyclists can get a bike tune up, enjoy a free coffee and snack, and also have a chance at winning a prize. A printer can supply an assortment of bike-themed branded promotional products that can be given away as swag during community based events such as this.

In an effort to ensure that everyone is well prepared for this week on two wheels, the organizers have invited local businesses to host a Workplace Cycling Workshop before the start of Bike to Work Week. This will give employees a chance to brush up on the rules of the road and receive biking tips.

The event has been planned for the week of May 29 until June 4 in Vancouver. Additional details and a chance to register have been provided on the Tourism Vancouver website.
