Vancouver restaurant hosts weekly networking brunch

British Columbia’s Chambar Restaurant has teamed up with a Vancouver small business owners networking group in an attempt to bring together Vancouver’s business community.

The weekly Referral Business Breakfast networking event is exactly what it says on the tin – a once-a-week chance to meet other businesspeople and form connections before the working day properly starts. The goal of the event is to enable small business owners from the Vancouver areas, including surrounding cities like Surrey and New Westminster, to forge connections and pass business on to each other.

The meetings take place at Chambar every Thursday morning. Event organizer Sandy Gum has suggested that attendance is typically close to 40. Attendees are encouraged to ask for referrals and bring plenty of business cards. Given the early hours, they may be advised to stop by the print shop the previous night. And of course, there will be a full breakfast provided by Chambar.

Advertising itself as ‘Casual Dining at its Finest’, Chambar is an upscale restaurant located near Vancouver’s historic Chinatown. Its breakfast menu includes staples like sausage in multiple varieties and waffles with an array of toppings that includes milk chocolate lavender, and fig orange marmalade. More refined palates may enjoy a range of French ‘petit dejeuner’ including cassoulet and ‘Bon Matin’ eggs.

If the weekly event continues to grow, it may soon become Vancouver’s unofficial ‘Chambar of Commerce’.
