Vancouver invited to enjoy local harvest

August 5, 2017 by

An evening of food, friends and fun has been planned for Vancouver, and everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a meal fresh from the schoolyard farm.

The Schoolyard Harvest Dinner, which will be prepared by Chef Juno Kim and his team from Fresh Roots will be crafting a special dinner made using ingredients sourced from schoolyard farms across the city. This will be complimented by fruit, vegetables and other produce freshly harvested on area farms and fish supplied by Skipper Otto’s Community Supported Fisheries.

While the food may be the star of the show, there will be lots more going on as well. Wine, beers and other beverages will be served, there will be music and other entertainment, dancing and lots of time to socialize with friends both old and new. All of the funds raised during the occasion will be contributed to the Fresh Roots educational farms initiative and its efforts to ensure there is good food for all. An area printer can be called upon to supply reusable pop up banners and other promotional products that can be used during an annual event such as this.

The Schoolyard Harvest Dinner will take place on September 9th from 4:30 pm until 8:30 pm at 1755 E 55th Ave. Anyone who would like to obtain additional details can do so by visiting the organizer’s Facebook page.
