Upcoming events showcase Delta farms

There will be two separate events taking place next month in Delta that will teach the public about local farms and how important they are.

The first is the 11th annual Day at the Farm and it is hosted by the Delta Farm and Wildlife Trust. It will take place at Westham Island Herb Farm in Ladner. This is a family-friendly event that will let guests see how farms operate and provide food for the community. There will be hay wagon tours, antique tractors and farm equipment on display and a live auction among other activities. Various conservation groups will have exhibits and there will be a homemade food contest, with local produce available for purchase.

Later on in the month, the 2nd Experience Delta Farm and Culinary Tour will take place. The event is presented by the Delta Chamber of Commerce. Guests will visit several participating farms either on a guided bus or a self-guided tour. They will be treated to various appetizers at each of the farms.

To advertise events like this, organizers in Delta often work with local stationery printing companies.

The Day at the Farm will be held on September 9 from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Admission is free. Call 604-946-4393 for more information.

The Experience Delta Farm and Culinary Tour will take place on September 17 from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Tickets are $45 for the bus tour or $20 for the self-guided tour. To learn more, call 604-946-4232.
