University of Saskatchewan seeking volunteers

April 13, 2018 by

The start of the 2018-2019 academic year is fast approaching, and volunteers are being sought to help out with an Saskatoon event that can allow prospective students and their families to get off to a great start.

Those who register to lend a hand will be asked to aid in the U-Start program, which will give participants a chance to learn more about what the University of Saskatchewan’s Student Services can provide. This includes a tour that highlights what each Student Service Support Unit does and the supports it offers.

The organizers of the day are interested in hearing from current staff, students and alumni who are knowledgeable about the campus and know how to find their way around with ease. They will be asked to lead a group of around 15 people on a tour of the university. They will also provide information about the Student Services and Support units on campus. A local printer can supply promotional products that can be given to each person who takes part in a tour like the ones being planned.

Anyone who would like to help out with this initiative has been asked to attend one of the training sessions. These run for approximately three hours each, and shave been scheduled so that those who are interested can choose the one that best suits them.

The first sessions have been planned for May 7. Anyone who would like further details has been asked to visit the event’s online description and registration page.
