Two upcoming events showcase local artists

There are two events taking place in Calgary next month that will showcase local artists and crafters.

The first one is the SAAA Fall Art Show, presented by the Southern Alberta Art Alliance. It will feature works of art in a number of media. Guests will have the opportunity to meet and speak to the artists. There will be a door prize and all of the art will be available for sale.

Later that month is the Art Market Art and Craft Sale, which will run for four days. There will be over 200 artisans on hand who will be selling paintings, furniture and clothing, among other items. There will also be wine and beer available for sale, and a live jazz band offering musical entertainment.

Both of these events will help some local artisans become better known, while also the public an opportunity to purchase items suitable for gift giving. Calgary print shops often provide marketing materials such as posters and flyers to advertise such events.

The SAAA Fall Art Show will be held at the Holy Cross Anglican Church on November 10 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Admission is free. To learn more, visit the SAAA website.

The Art Market Art and Craft Sale will take place at the Calgary Telus Convention Centre. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $8 for children between the age of 13 and 18. For more information, call 778-434-3156.
