Two major events to see 2014 close with a bang in Pickering

The Ontario city of Pickering will be welcoming 2015 with two events for the entire family.

The New Year’s Eve Family Countdown is taking place at the Pickering Recreation Complex on the last night of the year. Visitors will be able to go swimming and skating, and there will also be children’s entertainment to enjoy. The evening will round off with a countdown and a balloon drop.

The next day, the Mayor’s New Year’s Day Levee will welcome all residents of the city. Mayor David Ryan and members of the local council are expected to be on hand to greet everyone who attends. There is set to be live musical entertainment, free refreshments, children’s entertainment and prizes. It is a good opportunity for citizens to meet with their elected officials in a casual setting.

Notices of events such as these are often mailed out to residents of Pickering – a process that typically involves investing in flyer printing services.

The New Year’s Eve Family Countdown is scheduled to take place on December 31st at Pickering’s Recreation Complex, starting at 7:00pm and closing at 9:00pm. Admission is free, and to find out more about this event, call 905-683-6582.

The Mayor’s New Year’s Day Levee, on the other hand, will take place at One the Esplanade on January 1st from 2:00pm – 4:00pm. For more information, call 905-420-4620.
