Time to ready, set, garden in Mississauga

January 9, 2019 by

The annual Credit Valley Horticultural Society plant sale is set to return to the community this spring, and gardeners from all across Mississauga are invited to snag some horticultural bargains.

The sale, which will feature locally grown plants and other items, is open to the public. It serves as a fundraiser for the society, and helps to fund its various projects and activities throughout the community.

Perennials, annuals, vines, shrubs and other plants will all be on offer, and since their provenance will be local, they will be well suited to the local area. There will be cultivars that perform well in shade, sun and other conditions, and many will be native species.

The sale is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am, and since the items on offer will be available on a first come, first served basis, those who arrive early will be ensured of the best selection. Shoppers are reminded to bring along a wagon, box or dolly to carry all their new garden additions. Care tags and other items can help those who attend choose the varieties that are best for them, and these can be provided by a company that crafts promotional products.

This year’s Credit Valley Horticultural Society sale has been planned for May 18th. Its location will be released at a later date.
