Time to get crafty in Newmarket

September 29, 2017 by

As the winter holiday season approaches, an event that has been planned for Newmarket will teach those who participate how they can craft a variety of decorative items for their home.

Designs for Happiness is hosting Design Your Own Christmas Décor, and it will offer those who participate a chance to learn a variety of crafting techniques, such as using a laser cutting tool and an assortment of woodworking tools.

They will also be taught a variety of design methods, which they can then use to craft their very own customized decorations that they will be able to place throughout their home to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Attendees will be able to choose from making fireplace and table décor, snowflake chargers, a happy holidays card holder, a gingerbread house, window décor, trains, wreaths or antlers. As the event is intended to be fun as well as instructive, there will be time for the participants to socialize as they learn and work. Comb binding can be utilized by a local printer to craft simple instructional manuals for the attendees of a class like this to take home with them, allowing them to continue their crafts at home.

The workshop will be offered on both November 11 and 21 at 1310 Kerrisdale Boulevard in Newmarket. More information can be found on the NewMakeIt website.
