Street festival returns to downtown Dartmouth

The Switch Dartmouth street festival is taking place next month in Dartmouth. It is a presentation of the Downtown Dartmouth Business Commission and the Planning and Design Centre.

The festival will take place over two kilometers along both Portland Street and Prince Albert Road; the route will be closed to traffic.

There will be three music stages set up featuring local bands and artists. Atlantic Cirque will be on hand to demonstrate its skills, as well as give the public a chance to try equipment such as the trapeze and silks.

In addition, there are set to be roving entertainers as well as bouncy castles and special activities for the kids. Many of the downtown stores will also be providing shoppers with special deals during the festival. Food trucks will be on hand to sell snacks, drinks and meals.

There are also expected to be several community booths set up. These will be presented by various local organizations that will be providing information to the public about their services and programs.

It is likely that some of the booths and businesses participating in the festival will be handing out promotional products such as pens and fridge magnets that can be obtained from Dartmouth print shops.

Switch Dartmouth will be held on June 3 from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. Admission is free of charge. Call 902-789-5976 for more information.
