Street Fair to return to Saskatoon

August 26, 2013 by

The 5th annual Broadway Street Fair is coming to Saskatoon in September. The event is a presentation of the Broadway Business Improvement District.

Broadway Street will be closed to traffic for the occasion, allowing several stages to be set up for entertainment and for vendors to erect their booths. The fair will feature street performers, art and craft displays, live music, dancers, and plenty of food.

In addition, there will be a petting zoo, a children’s art hut and a silent auction. Stores located on the street will also be set up for a sidewalk sale. Children’s activities at the event will include clowns, face painting, and games. This event will be one of the last outdoor festivals in the city this summer and is expected to attract the interest of a large number of residents.

Non-food vendors can rent space for $100 plus and extra $20 for a table and two chairs. Those who are selling food products will pay a flat $120 fee. Vendors and other local businesses are also being encouraged to donate items to the silent auction.

It is likely that many of the vendors will be investing in services such as sign and banner printing from Saskatoon’s print companies. This will allow the vendors to draw more attention to their booths, possibly resulting in more sales.

The Broadway Street Fair will take place on September 7 from 10:00am-5:00pm. Admission is free. For more information, or to become a vendor, call 306-660-6463.
