St. Catharines asked to take steps to end Alzheimer’s

December 29, 2018 by

This January, residents of St. Catharines will be joining others from across the country take steps to help bring an end to Alzheimer’s and other related forms of dementia.

The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s will seek to raise both awareness about the disease and money to help fund programming, services and research as well. Everyone is invited to gather their co-workers, friends, family and whomever else they can and form a team, and they can choose walk or, if needed, they can roll along the route using a wheelchair, walker, stroller or other device.

As the group follows the route set for the day, they will be welcome to stop at the information and vendor stations that will be set up along the way. A Babysitting Angels Kid’s Zone will keep the little ones entertained, and there will be clowns and music entertainment as well.

An event like this can make an impact by raising both money and awareness. Brochures, banners, volunteer t-shirts, lanyards and signage are just a few of the promotional products that can be prepared by local printers.

It is hoped that participants will view the event as both a social and an active event. This year’s Walk for Alzheimer’s will be hitting the pavement on January 27th. Its website can be consulted for further details.
