Soup festival supports Youth Centre

Soupfest 2018 returns for its’ 16th annual festival, with all proceeds in support of the programming offered at the Living Rock Youth Centre.

All residents from the cities of Stoney Creek and Hamilton are invited to attend the annual festival, featuring soup from the areas’ best restaurants, raffle prizes, live music, and dance performances. Local celebrities and politicians, as well as many popular mascots, will be on site throughout the day.

Festivalgoers can cast their ballot for awards in different categories, including Most Creative Soup, Best Display, Best Grow Local Soup and the overall Best Soup.

All proceeds from the event are in support of the Living Rock Youth Centre. The ministry has provided support for over 30 years to local youth between the ages of 13-25. Each week the centre serves more than 1,000 meals, and provides prenatal care, substance abuse guidance, mental health and crisis support. Employment counselling, training and work experience are also provided six days per week.

Soupfest posters and signs are available and may be displayed wherever authorized, including workplaces and community centres. Everyone is encouraged to get the word out about this annual event.

Soupfest 2018 will be held on Wednesday, February 21, from 11:30 AM to 8:30 PM, at the Hamilton Convention Centre by Carmen’s located at 1 Summers Lane.

Adult tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Seniors’ and children’s tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. Tickets may be purchased in advance off the website or by calling 905-528-7625 extension 250.
