Sherwood Park asked to end support to area garden project

St. Andrew’s Centre Community Garden is in need of some TLC, and a fundraiser has been organized that will give the public in Sherwood Park and the surrounding areas a chance to lend a hand to the project.

The afternoon of activities is open to the public, and guests can enjoy music and other entertainment. There will also be an even split draw, a raffle with lots of prizes, a silent auction and tours of the garden. Refreshments will be offered, and those who attend can also purchase a drink from the toonie bar. A local banner printing company can provide banners, signage and other decorations for this type of occasion.

Tickets for the festivities are currently being sold, and they start at $25 each. Each ticketholder will receive both access to the event as well as one ticket for a drink. The monies raised will go towards helping to rejuvenate the garden, including the installation of 17 new garden boxes that will be accessible to the residents of St. Andrew’s Centre. This way, they will be able to remain active gardeners for as long as possible, and they will also be open to members of the local community who would like to grow vegetables but have no space to do so at their own home.

This fundraiser will be held at St. Andrew’s centre in Edmonton on June 9. Its Facebook page includes more information.
