Session teaches to smile while raising a wild child

The Children Heart of the Matter Conference will be held in Surrey later this month.

The two-day conference will feature two keynote speakers. Friday evening Dr. Scott Sampson, a notable author and science authority will present, ‘How to Raise a Wild Child: The Art and Science of Falling in Love with Nature’.

Sampson is a passionate advocate for the health benefits exposure to the outdoors can yield. Studies show it can reduce depression and bullying, and improve a child’s academic results. The evening will include an opportunity to have Dr. Sampson sign your copy of his book ‘How to Raise a Wild Child’.

Saturday’s session will feature Jeff A. Johnson, a retired family childcare program leader and podcast personality, who will speak about ‘Finding Your Smile Again’. Johnson will explore the causes and impact of burnout on caregivers, and ways to manage stress and improve future outcomes.

Sponsors are still needed for this conference, with packages including acknowledgement on social media and during the conference on signs and slideshow presentations. Sponsors will also have the opportunity to supply promotional products and brochures or flyers to be included in the conference attendee delegate packages.

The Child Heart of the Matter Conference will be held on January 26 to 27, at the Bell Performing Arts Centre located at 6250 144 Street in Surrey. Registration is available online only, with fees ranging from $20 for Friday night only, to $140 for two day admission.
