Service dogs exhibit launching at art gallery in Brampton

The Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) will be showcasing the ‘Beyond Sit and Stay: Dogs in Our Service’ exhibit.

This unique PAMA exhibit will teach adults and children about the important work that dogs perform for us, far beyond their traditional roles of pet and ‘best friend’. Jobs like security, search and rescue, therapy and detection are all part of the exhibit. The roles dogs play in partnership with a human are also included.

Fun activities, like a sniffing station where children can try to detect scents just like a dog, will be part of this year’s exhibit. There will also be a dog house where children can spend some time with their favorite furry friend.

The exhibit has been designed and produced by the Region of Halton, and will be presented in partnership with PAMA. Take-home promotional products may be distributed featuring the Halton Region logo design.

The exhibit is open to all ages, and included with the regular cost of admission to the museum. PAMA is open seven days a week, with a regular adult admission cost of $5, and a students’ and seniors’ admission cost of $4. Family admission is $12 and children ages five and under may attend free of charge.

The PAMA is located at 9 Wellington Street East in Brampton. The ‘Beyond Sit and Stay: Dogs in Our Service’ exhibit will be located on the main level of the museum, is is open for viewing from Saturday, February 10 to Sunday, June 3.
