Saskatoon zoomers invited to crooning competition

Saskatoon’s older adults have been issued an invitation to shine during a competition that has been planned just for them.

The Saskatoon Zoomer Idol contest will be hitting the city for its fourth year. It’s open to anyone over the age of 55, and the judging will be performed by a panel of guest judges from across the city. The audience will also have an opportunity to vote for their favorite entry, and both the “ Zoomer Idol” and also a People’s Choice Award will be up for grabs.

According to the organizers, the event is intended to both be fun and also to show the city a positive view of those over 55, while combating stereotypes of what it means to be an older adult. The master of ceremonies for the event will be Rob MacDonald.

The public is invited to come and cheer on their favorite zoomer entertainer. Dinner will be served, and there will be prizes and a cash bar. Banners, award certificates and much more for an event like this can be supplied by a local printing services provider.

October 19th has been selected as the date for the occasion, which will be held in TCU Place. More details, for anyone who wants further information, can be found on the Saskatchewan Council on Aging’s website.
