Saskatoon to celebrate its environmental heritage

Saskatoon is a city that has long had extremely close ties to the land, and this relationship will be both explored and celebrated during the upcoming NatureCity festival.

More than 50 different events have been organized as part of this event that recognizes urban wildlife. Local not-for-profit organizations, individuals, businesses, and government alike will all be taking part, and there will be plenty to see and do for people of all ages. Guided nature walks, talks by experts and other guest speakers, outdoor yoga, excursions to the river, astronomy and activities for the kids are all on the agenda.

The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘We are Water: Explore our Prairie Waterscape’, and many of the exhibits and activities will centre on the role water plays in the urban natural landscape. Organizations that are interested in adding an event to the festival’s calendar are welcome to do so. Banners and other promotional materials for an event like this can be supplied to the organizers by a print company.

Saskatoon’s Nature City Festival will be held in the city from May 23rd until 28th. A complete listing of the different activities, as well as their times, locations and a link for those who are interested in adding their own efforts to the celebration, can be found on its website.
