Santa set to stop in Richmond Hill

October 15, 2018 by

Each year, the community of Richmond Hill comes together to greet the start of the holiday season by taking in the annual Santa Claus parade, and 2018 will be no exception.

This nighttime event will feature lots of light, sound and colour, and will include floats, marchers and bands. The theme chosen for this year is ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’, and all locals are urged to join in the excitement by participating in the procession or coming out to join the spectators along its route.

Those who are taking part in the parade will gather at William F. Bell Parkway and then head down Leslie Street until it reaches Performance Drive, where it will conclude. Individuals, organizations and businesses that want to show their civic spirit are all invited to submit an application to be involved, and they are encouraged to be creative when developing the plan for their family friendly float or other entry.

Both commercial and not for profit groups are welcome to apply to take part in the event. The fee for a business is $225, while community service organizations or charities will be asked to pay $50. Application forms, as well as banners, brochures, marketing postcards, signs and customized clothing for staff and volunteers, are just a few of the items that can be prepared for an occasion like this by an area printing services provider.

The final date to apply for this year’s Santa Claus parade is this Friday, October 19. A full description of the function, as well as its policies and regulations, can be found on the community’s website.
