Risk management workshop planned for Newmarket event space owners

When an event venue or small business owner rents out space, there can be certain risks attached to doing so, and during a Newmarket workshop, attendees will have a chance to learn how they protect themselves.

ArtsBuild Ontario has planned a seminar that will address the risks that can come with offering an event space for rent. Its organizers noted that it can be helpful to both business owners and also artists who rent out space for the different functions they may host.

The facilitator of the workshop will discuss the topic from a variety of perspectives. Attendees will learn how they can mitigate the financial, operational and legal risks that can come with offering a location for rent. According to its planners, the information can be especially helpful to small businesses and organizations that are new to the practice of offering space for rent or that are planning to expand. Comb binding can be used by a printer to produce informational handouts to give out to those who participate in a function like this.

This workshop is part of a series being offered by ArtsBuild Ontario with assistance and support from the York Region Arts Council and WorkInCulture. It is being offered to the local business and not for profit community free of charge. It will be held at 1310 Kerrisdale Blvd #200 in Newmarket on February 15th. Additional information can be found on the ArtsBuild Ontario website.
