Richmond fundraiser to send some love to Uganda

April 12, 2018 by

During a Richmond area event, guests will have an opportunity to show their support to a project in Africa that provides health and other community-based services to those in need.

International Community Empowerment Foundation (ICEF) Canada will be hosting a gala evening. Dubbed ‘From Tekera With Love’, the event will have a 007 theme and guests are encouraged to come dressed in their best James Bond style attire.

The fundraiser will give those who attend a chance to mingle and get to know one another, and while they do, they will be able to learn more about the Tekera Resource Centre in Uganda that their contributions will be helping. Dinner will be served, and both a live and silent auctions are on the agenda.

Tickets for the function are $60 each, and all who are interested are welcome. Entertainment will be on hand for the crowd to enjoy, and the proceeds will help to fund the centre’s educational, trades training, medical, women’s empowerment and other programming the Tekera Resource Centre provides to the community. Banners, table cards, signage and other items for this type of occasion can be supplied by local print shops.

This event, which will show some love to people half the world away, has been planned for May 5 at 1665 56th Street in Delta. Its Facebook event listing includes additional information for anyone who wants to find out more.
