Richmond event to showcase its cultural side

May 15, 2018 by

The city of Richmond is home to a diverse group of buildings, each of which has a unique history and purpose, and the public will be offered an opportunity to get a special look inside at least 40 of them.

The city will once again be holding its ‘Doors Open Richmond’ celebration, and it will be the 11th year that it has staged this activity. It is free to participate and will run throughout the morning and afternoon on both days it takes place.

The locations that will be involved in this year’s self-guided tour range from museums and heritage sites to art galleries, specialty businesses, green spaces, places of worship, artist studios and others. Some will have hosts on hand to talk with the visitors and answer questions, and the guests will be able to learn more about all their home city has to offer when it comes to culture and the arts.

All ages are welcome to participate, and the opening ceremonies will be held in Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site the evening before the Door Open Richmond activities will be offered. A brochure printing services provider can supply printed maps and other items that can help to make an occasion like this a success for all those who are included.

The opening ceremonies have been scheduled for June 1, and the event itself will be run on June 2 and June 3. A full description of the festivities can be found on the city’s website.
