Reed Deer ready for May run

April 14, 2017 by

The 7th Muscles in Motion run is taking place next month in Red Deer. It is a fundraising event for Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

The day consists of a 1K, a 4K and an 8K trail run/walk. The 1K is for children and is followed by a mini challenge for them to complete. Participants pay a fee to participate and also collect pledges from friends, family and co-workers. Fees are $25 for adults and $15 for children, and there is also a team challenge for $75.

In addition to the runs, there will be plenty of activities going on during the morning and afternoon. DJ Sabotage will be entertaining the crowd, with raffles and a 50/50 draw also set to take place. Vendors will also be on hand to sell food and beverages, and a variety of children’s activities are planned.

A popular part of this event will likely be the Fire Fighter Fitness Challenge. Teams of up to six firefighters will have difficult challenges to complete at five different stations.

Pledge forms and raffle tickets used at events such as this are often provided by Red Deer stationery printing companies.

The Muscles in Motion run will be held at Jarvis Bay Provincial Park on May 27 from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Call Kim on 403-887-7173 to learn more about this upcoming event.
