RCMP to meet with Burnaby public

This year will be Canada’s 150th birthday and to help mark the occasion, members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) from Burnaby will be dressing in their traditional red serge uniform and meeting with the public.

Residents and visitors alike can head to Burnaby Village Museum to meet with the officers, who will be dressed in the red uniform that has come to be associated with this detachment, which started out life as the police force sent to the developing western portion of Canada. Locals and visitors can have their photos taken with the officers, ask them questions and find out more about these law enforcement professionals who have a reputation for always being able to “get their man”.

These specially planned Red Serge Days will be held each Tuesday at noon throughout the summer. They will be on site at the Burnaby Village Museum for two hours, and everyone is welcome to come meet and mingle with members of the country’s national police force. A local printer can produce an assortment of branded promotional products that can be given out during public functions such as this.

The first session to meet an RCMP officer has been planned for July 4th, and anyone who is interested in finding out more about these events or the museum itself are invited to visit the Tourism Burnaby website.
