Production of Pinocchio planning to take to the stage in Camrose

Pinocchio is well-known fairy tale, and a production planned for Camrose will be putting a new spin on this old story.

The play, which will be set in Tuscany, relates the tale of how a lonely father creates a marionette who says he can find his son and bring him home. His adventure takes him across both the land and under the sea, and he even finds himself being swallowed by a giant shark swimming in the Mediterranean.

The production is based on a book written by Farren Timoteo, who also directs the show, and the musical score has been prepared by Jeff Under. It is being staged by Alberta Opera, and is part of the Jeanne and Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre’s Fountain Tire Family Series. Tickets are being distributed free of charge to local families, and each person who plans on attending the function is required to have one to be admitted.

The planners of this opportunity for families to enjoy the theatre noted that they wished to thank the sponsors, as their support has made it possible for them to bring the show to Camrose. A printer can use poster printing technology to prepare an assortment of marketing materials for an event like this.

Pinocchio will be taking to the stage on January 19, 2019, with tickets on sale to the public as of December 3.
