The 17th annual Growing Rural Tourism Conference returns to Camrose this year, with fresh ideas on implementing change in Alberta’s rustic destinations.

Designed for municipal councillors, economic developments officers and rural tourism operators, the 2018 conference invites all invested representatives wishing to inspire their communities to attend.

Several speakers are slated to present their thoughts and ideas on improving proficiencies in tourism marketing and customer service, and driving community engagement. Notable speakers will include The Food Network’s John Catucci and popular broadcaster Sunny Lenarduzzi.

The Entrepreneurship Challenge returns for the fourth year, with a first place prize of $10,000 and free conference registration. An application form along with contest rules and eligibility is available on the website.

Conference sponsorship opportunities are still available, with packages that may include relevant product placements, distribution of promotional products and features on printed media such as signs and banners. The Camrose Regional Exhibition, Tourism Camrose, and Travel Alberta have already been established as partnered sponsors for the event.

The 2018 conference will be held on Tuesday, February 20 beginning at 10:00 AM and ending at 2:00 PM on Thursday February 22. It will be hosted by the Camrose Regional Exhibition, located at 4250 Exhibition Drive. Tickets range in price from $45 to $350, and include an evening awards gala and entertainment.
