Popular food festival returns to Calgary

August 27, 2018 by

The Calgary Food Fest is taking place next month in the city. It is presented by Team Up Calgary and a portion of all proceeds will be donated to Sonshine Community Services.

The festival drew 3,000 people last year which included a visit from

Mayor Naheed Nenshi.

There will be over 20 local food trucks on hand to sell a variety of food and drinks. There is also set to be live musical entertainment and a market expo featuring local small businesses and entrepreneurs. For the children, there will be a large KidZone. The KidZone will feature inflatables, sports mascots and lots of fun activities. Tickets are $5.

Organizers are still looking for volunteers to provide services such as information, set up and clean up.

Team Up Calgary holds several events each year aimed at bringing the community together and raising funds for important organizations. Sonshine Community Services is an organization that helps women and children who are escaping family violence. Among its services are the Sonshine Centre shelter, a children’s center and counseling.

Organizers may invest in poster printing services from a Calgary printing company to advertise in the community.

The Calgary Food Fest will be held at 11400 – 27 Street SE on September 8 from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Tickets are free of charge but food and drink come with separate charges. For more information about this event or to become a volunteer, contact Team Up Calgary at 587-390-6167.
