Popular festival returns to Woodstock for another year

September 18, 2017 by

The Woodstock Fleece Festival is taking place next month.

Also known as ‘Woolstock’, the festival is dedicated to the fibre arts, which include knitting, spinning, weaving, rug hooking and felting. It is set to feature a wide variety of demonstrations in each skill, as well as a number of workshops.

The workshops on offer range in price from $40 up to $85. Topics include how to make two-ply yarn on a hand spindle, knitted tapestries, an introduction to tapestry and natural dyeing. They are all taught by experts in their craft and range from beginner to advanced topics. Workshops can last up to three hours.

One of the main draws of the festival is the marketplace, which will be held at three different locations. Items for sale will include raw fiber, knitted clothing, needlework creations and spun threads. The public will also have the opportunity to ask the vendors for advice on many skills.

No doubt organizers have invested in marketing services to ensure everyone knows that this event is coming up once again.

The Woodstock Fleece Festival will be held at the Woodstock Fairgrounds on October 14 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Tickets are $8 for adults and free for children aged 15 and under. To learn more about this event, visit the official website.
