Pickering area to host Infection Prevention and Control Day symposium

October 30, 2016 by

The Pickering area will be playing host to a symposium dedicated to providing attendees with the latest information related to infectious disease control.

The Central East Ontario branch of Infection Prevention and Control Canada (IPAC) has organized IPAC Central East Ontario Infection Prevention and Control Education Day, which will bring together a range of experts in the field.

A variety of presenters have been engaged, who will be speaking about an assortment of topics related to infectious disease control and prevention, such as the ‘Epidemiology of Clostridium Difficile Infection (CDI)’, tuberculosis in Ontario and the rest of Canada, and ‘Gaps in Antimicrobial Stewardship Outside the Acute Care Setting’. It is geared towards those who work in a healthcare setting, including community health, long-term care, and acute care.

Breakout sessions will occur throughout the day, and plenty of opportunities for attendees to network and share best practices have been built into the schedule. A printer can use wide format printing to produce banners, signage and other items for a large event such as this.

The symposium will be held in the Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences in Whitby on November 29. Tickets are $75 each, which covers parking, snacks, lunch and an opportunity to attend all the presentations and breakout sessions.

Registration for the event is available on its Eventbrite page.
