Pets to take pride of place during Saskatoon festival

June 13, 2017 by

A special event for pets and their owners is taking place in Saskatoon next month.

Pets in the Park 2017 is open to all, and pets are welcome, so long as they are leashed. Those who attend will be able to take in a performance from a local musician, watch demonstrations of flyball and other games, meet the k-9 unit of the Saskatoon Police and much more. There will be a silent auction, nail trims courtesy of PetSmart, pet portraits, microchip ID’ing, vendor displays and a wide assortment of other activities.

The event serves as a fundraiser for the local animal welfare agencies. It will be used to help provide care, housing and medical treatment for sick, abused, homeless and orphaned animals in the city. It will be held in Kiwanis Memorial Park North, and there is no admission fee.

All pets need to be either in a carrier or on a leash, and retractable leashes are not allowed. A stationery printing company will be able to print specially designed certificates of appreciation that can be given to the sponsors and volunteers who help make events like this a success.

The event will take place on July 9th, and everyone is welcome to come and support Saskatoon’s animal-supporting organizations. It will begin at 9:00am. Anyone who would like to find out more has been asked to visit the event’s website.
