Performers set to take over Edmonton’s streets

June 7, 2018 by

The 34th annual Edmonton International Street Performers Festival is taking place for six days next month.

As the name suggests, street performers from all over the world will be traveling to Calgary to compete in the festival. There will be jugglers, magicians, and circus performers, along with hula hoopers, dancers and musicians. They will be performing for the public in and around Dr. Wilbert McIntyre Park (which will be known as Gazebo Park for the run of the festival).

There will be a “Be your own Busker” area where the public can experiment with their performing skills. There will also be a number of vendors on hand to sell items such as arts and crafts, general merchandise and festival souvenirs. In addition, food and drink will also be available for purchase.

Organizers are still looking for volunteers to help with the smooth running of the festival. Volunteers must be aged 14 and over and will help with providing information, running raffles and supervising the Kids’ World area.

To advertise events such as this popular festival, organizers often invest in flyer printing services from a Calgary print shop.

The Edmonton International Street Performers Festival will be held at Dr. Wilbert McIntyre Park from July 10 to 15. Admission to the festival is free but donations are appreciated. Call 780-425-5162 to learn more.
