Outdoor summer celebrations coming to Hamilton in August

The residents of Hamilton are gearing up for a summer of fun with two outdoor festivals scheduled to take place in August. It is hoped that the events will allow families to get out and enjoy the good weather while it’s still here.

The Valens Lake Beach Party is a presentation of Conservation Hamilton. It will feature plenty of games, including a sand sculpture contest with several prizes up for grabs for the winners. The party will have something on offer for those of all ages.

The Ice Cream Carnival is taking place over two days at the Westfield Heritage Village. Westfield is a restored historic area in which people dress in period costume and show examples of what life was like during the Edwardian era. The carnival will feature traditional carnival games and amusements, food vendors, musical entertainment and, of course, ice cream. Visitors can even witness demonstrations of how it was made in the early 1900s.

Both of these events will likely attract big crowds of people from the Hamilton and Stoney Creek areas. No doubt organizers of both events will be investing in services such as flyer printing to help advertise them in the communities.

The Valens Lake Beach Party will take place on August 3 from 11:30am – 3:30pm. For more information, call 905-525-2183 or visit the Hamilton Conservation Authority’s official website.

The Ice Cream Carnival is being held from August 4 to 5. More information can be found by calling 1-800-883-0104.
