Oakville sale to offer lots of plants for local gardeners

March 4, 2018 by

Oakville gardeners who are interested in adding some new plants to their flower and shrub beds may find just what they are looking for at the Oakville Horticultural Society’s Plant Sale.

This event will give local green thumbs and those who are “gardening challenged’ alike a chance to choose varieties that have been proven to do well in the area. Members of the society will also be in attendance, and they will be able to answer questions, hare tips and advice and aid in plant selection.

Many of the items that will be on offer will be donated by the society’s membership. Depending on what they contribute, there will be a wide assortment of perennials to choose from. It is also anticipated that several types of herbs will also be available, and all of the plants will have been grown in the local area.

Those who come early will have access to the best selection, and anyone who plans on buying is asked to bring along boxes to help carry what they buy. Reusable banners and other items for this type of occasion can be provides by an area printer.

This opportunity for local gardeners to add to their collection will be held on May 19th at Munn’s United Church. It will begin at 8:30, and more details can be obtained by visiting the society’s website.
