Niagara job services expanding

August 15, 2017 by

A new YMCA of Niagara Employment Services centre will be opening later this month, in the Thorold Foodland Plaza.

The new location will join the two other employment services centres in the Niagara region, at 285 Bunting Road in St. Catharines and at 8123 Lundy’s Lane in Niagara Falls.

YMCA Employment Services offer programs customized for the needs of each individual. Users can range from experienced workers who have been laid off or suddenly become unemployed, to unexperienced youth and newcomers to the province. Individuals interested in changing careers and perhaps pursuing an opportunity in a skilled trade will also find help at the centre.

The staff at the centre will be able to help with career counselling, professional résumé preparation, searching for relevant job postings and interview preparation. Workshops are routinely held at the centre, where presentation folders and brochures with relevant information may be provided. Event calendars may also be available at the service office.

Free internet is already offered at the St. Catharines and Niagara Falls locations. It will also be available at the new Thorold location, between 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

All of the programming offered by the YMCA of Niagara Employment Services Centre is available free of charge. The new office in Thorold is expected to open by the middle of August.
