New truck facility opens in Mississauga

Bison Transport recently opened its brand new terminal, which is located in Mississauga.

The company, which is based in Winnipeg, built the new facility to help accommodate their expansion in Ontario. It plans to double the current size of its fleet of vehicles. The total price tag for this particular project came in at around $25 million.

A grand opening was held to mark the occasion, and move 100 guests came out to take part in the celebrations. Hors d’oeuvres were served and they got a grand tour of the building.

Since the purpose of the new terminal is catered to trucks and trick drivers, a unique ribbon cutting was held. A huge banner, which may have been created by a banner printing company, was stretched between two vehicles, and when their drivers put their feet on the gas and moved in opposite directions, the banner was ”cut”.

The new facility is the second largest of its type in the whole country. It includes a lounge where drivers and other staff can enjoy watching some TV, computers with internet, a gym, a washer and dryer and even a kitchen where they can prepare a meal. All of this is available 24 hours a day.

The old building that this replaces will now be used as a vehicle maintenance shop. This will help them to keep their fleet on the road, allowing their drivers to earn as much as possible.
