The 4th annual Backlot Bash is taking place next month in Halifax. A fundraiser for the Ecology Action Centre, it is hosted by Garrison Brewing.

Three bands will be performing during the evening: The Glorious Sons, The Motorleague and Hello Delaware. The winner of the Battle for the Bash Band Contest will be announced shortly before the event and will be the opening act for The Glorious Sons, as well as receiving $200 in prize money. The contest was hosted by Live 105 and the public had the opportunity to vote on the winner until May 7. The criterion for the winner was mainly that it had to be a band not currently signed to any label.

In addition, several local food trucks will be on site including Asado and the Halifax Press. Beer and cider will also be available for purchase.

The Ecology Action Centre helps to protect the coasts and water, promotes the eating of local foods and aids in marine conservation.

Halifax poster printing companies will often be asked to provide posters and other printed materials to advertise events like this in the city.

The Backlot Bash will be held at the Cunard Centre on June 16 beginning at 5:30 PM. Tickets are $34 in advance and $39 at the gate; admission is restricted to people aged 19 and over. Call 902-453-5343 for more information.
