Municipal leaders invited to attend intensive Camrose strategic planning course

July 3, 2018 by

Those who are involved in municipal governance may wish to make room in their calendar for a day of learning in Camrose that has been developed to aid them in their strategic planning and other tasks.

The Augustana Campus of the University of Alberta will be the host for the ‘Advanced Municipal Leadership: Planning and Action’ workshop. It has been brought to the community by Doug Griffiths, who is both a bestselling author in the field of municipal government and a former Minister of Municipal Affairs.

This new program will discuss strategic planning and how to craft a fluid document that will include lots of action items that can be acted upon to improve the governance in a community. It will include a discussion of vision statements, and attendance has been suggested for those who work as a councilor, mayor, reeve or member of a municipal staff team.

This day long learning opportunity is one of six short but intensive courses that have been organized for the local area. Presentation folders and other handouts for this type of function can be prepared by an area printing services company.

Anyone who is interested in registering for this event, which will be held on September 13 at 4901 46 Avenue in Camrose, can contact 780-679-1502 or visit the occasion’s online listing for further details.
