Mississauga fundraising weekend planned

Canada Blood Services works to ensure that there is an adequate blood supply to meet the needs of Canadians, and it is one of the charity partners taking part in the upcoming Mississauga Scotiabank Charity Challenge.

Those who would like to help the organization meet its fundraising goals will be able to sign up to participate in their choice of events being offered as part of the weekend. These include both a full marathon and fun walk, and many of the options will be family friendly.

Those who are interested in taking part will be assigned a race bib number, which they will be asked to bring along with them when they come to the Runner’s Expo to pick up their race kit. This is mandatory, and after obtaining theirs, those who have chosen Canada Blood Services as their charity of choice will be able to stop by its booth. Here, they can pick up the branded promotional products being offered as swag, which includes a specially designed t-shirt. The team will also be on hand to meet and greet the runners and walkers.

This large community event will be held in Celebration Square, and it will kick off on Friday, May 4. The registration fee is $30 each, and more details can be found by visiting its event listing.
