Mississauga day camp will focus on cooking for kids

Andrea Falcone is a registered dietician and certified fitness professional, and she has planned a special camp-style experience for kids that will combine learning about health and nutrition with hands-on experience and other fun.

The camp is for those from ages 5 to 8, and will provide an introduction to basic culinary skills and knowledge of nutrition and healthy eating habits. The goal is to help the kids who participate gain an increased confidence in the kitchen while they make their lunch each day.

The event will run for five days and the sessions will begin at 10:00 am. The morning will be dedicated to cooking, and in the afternoons, it will be time for play, and there will be games, crafts and other fun for the campers. The goal is to both teach the kids how to be proactive when it comes to their health and also to make new friends and have a great time.

The day camp will be held in Queen of Heaven Elementary School, which is located at 1198 Alexandra Avenue in Mississauga. Cookbooks, camper T-shirts, staff uniforms and other materials can be prepared for an event like this by a local printing services provider.

The registration fee for this activity is $350 for each child. It will begin on July 23 and run until July 27. Payment is expected upon registration.
