Milton men invited to enjoy fundraising walk with a twist

August 30, 2017 by

This fall, men from across Milton will be able to join in an event that will combine fun with fundraising to help prevent, and support the victims of, domestic violence.

This will be the second year that the walk has been held, and the men who participate will complete the walk in high heels. They are invited to collect pledges from their friends, family and co-workers, and if they are also asked to join in the fun and encourage others to do the same.

The monies raised will be used by Halton Women’s place, which provides support and other assistance to those who have been affected by domestic violence. The registration time for the day will begin at 12:30 pm at Tony’s Diner, which will also be supplying a free lunch for the walkers. The actual walk itself has been scheduled to begin at 1:15 pm. A local printer can print banners as well as branded T-shirts and other swag that can be prepared for distribution to all the people who lend a fundraiser like this a helping hand.

The Hope in High Heels walk luncheon and other activities have been planned for the afternoon of September 16, and anyone who is interested in taking part or who would like to find more details about Halton Women’s Place can find both of these by visiting its website.
