Medicine Hat excursion planned to Dinosaur Provincial Park

May 18, 2017 by

Medicine Hat residents who have always wanted to visit Dinosaur Provincial Park are invited to attend a day that will give them an introduction to this UNESCO world heritage site.

Those who come for the day will be shuttled to the park, where they can view the dinosaur footprints, watch the area’s unusual wildlife and walk along the hoodoo trail. There will also be time to browse through the display of fossils in the visitor’s centre and enjoy a bite to eat in the Cretaceous Café. There will also be time to explore the world of microfossils, and find out about the animals and plants that used to call the area home.

At 4:30, the group will gather together again for the return trip to Medicine Hat. The entry fee has been set at $59.99 for adults and $39 for children, and those who plan of taking part are reminded to wear appropriate footwear for the excursion. Comb binding can be used to create simple field guides that can be distributed to each person who takes part in an activity such as this.

The trip has been planned for July 9, and will set off from the Medicine Hat visitors’ centre at 9:00 am. Anyone who would like additional details has been asked to contact 403-487-1312 for more information or to reserve a spot.
