Mayor’s luncheon will honor the arts in Brampton

August 29, 2013 by

The 26th annual Mayor’s Luncheon for the Arts is taking place in Brampton in September.

The event is presented by the Brampton Arts Council with the aim of promoting arts in the city and encouraging people to share their creative talents with the general public.

Brampton mayor Susan Fennell will be in attendance at the luncheon and will be presenting several awards, including Art Person of the Year, the Harry Dale Literary Grant Award and the Leon Argamasilla Bacardi Award of Excellence. Sponsors and those who have donated money to the Brampton Arts Council will also be recognized.

The day’s events will consist of a cocktail reception, lunch, musical entertainment and the awards presentations. Music will be provided by well-known artist Valdy. There will also be time for networking amongst artists and those in the business community who support the arts.

It is likely that many of the Brampton area artists and businesspersons who will be attending the luncheon will be investing in a new business card printing order in advance. That way they will be sure not to run out of cards to exchange. Printing companies may also be called upon to provide certificates and other ceremony keepsakes for the evening’s award winners.

The Mayor’s Luncheon for the Arts will take place at the Rose Theatre on September 17 beginning at 11:00am. Tickets are $95 each or $105 for preferred seating; tables for 10 are available. For more information, call 905-874-2919.
