Low-cost cheer happening for local youth

The Ultimate Community Camp will be held in Pickering later this month, hosted by Ultimate Canadian Cheer.

This two-day camp is designed for children ages five to eleven years, and offered for a small fee. Children will have the opportunity to learn many aspects of cheerleading, from introductory motions to more advanced tumbling and jumps.

The annual camp is a way for Ultimate Canadian Cheer to give back to the community. Volunteers are needed, with high school students receiving community service hours for their commitment.

Food and financial donations are also needed, with sponsorship packages including company recognition on all printed flyers, brochures and signs, as well as distribution of promotional products in the camp loot bags.

Ultimate Canadian Cheer has been a part of the community for over 15 years, with its unique program focuses on physical fitness, as well as the emotional wellbeing of the children who attend. Self-confidence and motivation is inspired in the youth, while they work to master the physical challenges presented in this safe environment.

This year, the camp will be held on Monday, August 28, to Tuesday, August 29, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Aftercare is also offered when needed. The camp cost of $10.00 per day per child includes a wholesome lunch. Organizers hope the low cost of the camp will allow children to attend who may otherwise not be able to enjoy their programming.

Ultimate Canadian Cheer is located at 1420 Bayly Street, Unit 17, in Pickering. More information can be obtained by calling 905-839-8822 or emailing info@ultimatecheer.ca.
