A charity golf tournament in support of the Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) will be held later this month in Cambridge.

Organized by PeopleCare Communities and hosted by the Cambridge Golf Club, this fundraiser will be in support of MEDA’s mission to find business solutions for women entrepreneurs in Ghana.

MEDA was established in 1953 with a mandate to generate business-based answers to poverty. Helping people living in poverty in rural communities, women and youth are their top priorities. Tournament attendees may receive brochures with information about MEDA and the foundation’s charitable contributions.

Sponsorship packages are available, with proceeds in support of MEDA. Packages may include distribution of promotional products during the function.

The event will be held on Friday, August 25. The cost to register is $150.00 per person, and includes an afternoon of golf, the use of a golf cart, plus a barbecue lunch and sit-down dinner. There is also a dinner only option, which costs $40 per person.

The tournament begins at 11:30 am, with registration at the Cambridge Golf Club, located on 1346 Clyde Rd. Dinner begins at 6:30 pm, featuring the silent auction, 50/50 draw and awards for the Longest Drive for men and women, as well as Closest to the Keg and Pin.

Guests can register for the tournament by contacting Donna Michaels at 519-621-3067, or Maureen Douglas at 519-513-5260.
