Local peach festival returns for its 50th season

Residents from Hamilton, Stoney Creek and the Niagara region are preparing to celebrate the golden anniversary of the Winona Peach Festival later this month.

Offering attractions for everyone since 1967, the Winona Peach Festival has become a local family tradition. This years’ celebration will feature the customary raffle for a new car, handmade craft exhibits, a vintage car show, food court, Robertson’s Amusements Midway rides and games, and children’s entertainment by E.D. Smith Fun Factory.

In addition to the local farmers’ fresh peaches available for sale, over 100 commercial vendors will be on site offering various products and services. The merchants may have brochures and catalogs available, and may distribute complimentary promotional products during the festival.

Once again, the Peach Festival will be held at Winona Park, located at 1328 Barton Street in Stoney Creek. Admission is free for everyone.

The 2017 operating hours will be from 5:00pm to 11:00pm on Friday August 25th, a full day on Saturday August 26th from 10:00am to 11:00pm, and Sunday August 27th from 10:00am to 6:00pm.

The festival is organized and made a success each year by the work of thousands of volunteers. A total of 19 organizations sponsor the event, including sports and religious associations and community service groups.
