Lethbridge to host summer celebration of multiculturalism

June 28, 2018 by

The Southern Alberta Ethnic Association is hosting two events this summer that are designed to introduce people to various multicultural groups within their community.

The first event will be Taste of Africa that will be taking place to see in this weekend. Guests will experience a traditional African meal that will include beef stew, ugali (similar to a dough ball, made of flour) and mandazi (a form of fried bread). Tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for children aged six and over.

Early next month the Festival Latino will be held in the city. It will feature a variety of multicultural food available for purchase, a beer garden and the Cantina Bar. There will also be live musical entertainment and traditional dance demonstrations. In addition, there will be a variety of family-friendly activities during the afternoon and evening. Admission is free of charge.

Both of these events will probably attract many Lethbridge residents who may find out about them due to advertising provided by local print shops.

The Taste of Africa will be held at the Multicultural Centre tomorrow evening, beginning at 5:30 PM.

Festival Latino will take place at Galt Gardens on Saturday, July 7 from 12:00 noon to 9:00 PM.
